Tough Tuesday

Oh, it's not a tough day today. It's actually a really good day around here. Austin is golfing in a junior competition and the rest of us are taking the day off at school. It's "half term" in our area. That's where the local schools take a week or so off to give the kids a break. Every 6 or 7 weeks they do that in order to school until July. We generally don't follow the same schedule so that we can have flexibility in traveling at off-peak times.

I just wanted to show you what's happening here at our house.

My two "tough" guys have been working out together. Austin has taken an interest in getting stronger, and Shawn is showing him the ropes.

I love seeing them exercise. Kids grow up so quickly, don't they? I can remember "like it was yesterday" Austin toddling around at the age of about 2 and asking for what I was taking out of the jar that was making "clinking" sounds. I was trying to quietly take a handful of M & M's without his notice. Oh, he noticed alright! I did share with him and he forever knew my hiding spot.

Up and down, up and down...

These are a killer! Maybe I should join these fellows and tighten my backside up, too.

But then again, I think I'll sit back and quilt as I watch them strengthen their relationship AND their physique.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan.

Or sounds like pain! Oh my! I know I need to exercise, but that's not part of my plans...I am such a fair weather walker and lately it hasn't been that fair...excuses, excuses...

Thanks for sharing your precious family with us. Enjoy your quilting while they do the tough stuff (smile).

Blessings and peace.

Carol,

Lunges, great for the backside yet the pain you will feel the next few days makes you seriously question whether it was all worth it in the end.

Not recommended either for those with bad knees!

I love that whole m&m story-I had a secret stash when my kids were home too. Its cute to see your 'boys' working out together. Kids getting older is also wonderful...there are joys that come with every age.

Oh, and I tagged you in something on my blog today : )

They do grow up quickly don't they. I remember being surprised the first time my oldest son asked me to show him the right way to do a push up.

Great bonding time for your son and husband...fun to see.

That is awesome that your guys are hanging out together building their relationship and muscles. They are cute doing their lunges. YOu are smart to decline. LOL

This is so great. I love to see people work out and get their kids involved to. Every since my surgery last November working out has been a real struggle. I am resigning myself to the fact that as I get older modifying my workouts will be key. No more squatting for me. And my backside? We won't talk about it =)

You quilt?!! How great!! I would love to learn. Wish we lived closer together. Mo & England, definitely across the pond from each other =)

Have a Blessed evening,
Dawn
