Rhoda from the "Southern Hospitality" blog hosts Thrifty Treasures each week to give us the opportunity to show off treasures we have found either at garage sales, Good Will (GW), etc.
A couple of weeks ago I found a neighborhood garage sale and scored with several different things. I didn't take photos of everything I got, but I will try to do that next time.
When I saw this magazine rack for $12 that had "Pottery Barn" on it, I thought I could use it but knew it couldn't stay in this condition. I actually paid $10 and this is what I did with it.
I spray painted it and then made tags for each compartment. The tags say, "Cooking, Quilting, Decorating, Scrapbooking." I bought paper that color-coordinates with my window treatments and made the edges of the paper look distressed. I printed the tags on my computer and my handsome hubs mounted it on the wall.

Great purchase--looks great in the house. Just a note we are out-of-town at the end of this week. We should be home by Saturday, but am not sure what time. Are you meeting up with Pam or Tara? And when? julie :)
Great deal, Carol!
Too cute! And I love your blog header
Beautiful rack thingie- I would love to use that for some extra home organization!
You did a great job, it looks fabulous, and what a great price too. I haven't been out to any yard sales this year but I'm always tempted.
What a great find and a great project. I think it turned out great! Good job! And I love how you coordinated the paper to match your curtains!
I LOVE it Carol! Absolutely adorable...love the white much more than then how you bought it, and what a creative way to use it.
Really cute! I love it!
What an awesome transformation!
Thanks for your prayers, encouragement, and support.

Very cute! The labels are a wonderful touch!
That's adorable!!! Have we talked about the fact that Rhoda lives in Birmingham and I know her? You'll have to come visit her when you come visit me. ;)
I love finding treasures and making them my own. Unfortunately I haven't been able to go treasure hunting lately....
I love what you did with it!
Hi Carol,
You are gifted to make things delicous and beautiful. This one falls ofcourse in the latter category...
Still think often about the good time we had at your house. We are all back home now, since Bibleschool is finished. I begin to settle in again in Holland.
That turned out fabulous! I never find anything from Pottery Barn!
Great transformation - I love the white much better
