From Blog to Book

Recently I was reading someone's blog, and I can't remember whose it was. There was a photo of a group of bloggers that decided to meet that were looking at someone's blog published into a book. It grabbed my attention once again, because when I first started blogging I also saw one on Rachel's blog that she had made.

At that exact moment I could have had one made, but it would have been the sum total of 2 pages. Isn't sum total redundant? I've often heard it stated that way. I digress as I often do...

Between those two inspirations, I had my very own made and BOY, AM I THRILLED WITH IT! It is very well made and I decided to have it bound with a hard cover for an extra $10 I think. I don't keep figures in my head for too long, but Rachel does. (Don't tell her I said that. She loves numbers). I can look it up if you want to know the exact price. I also had a 20% off coupon that made it much cheaper.

Here's a quick peak at it:

Front Cover

Dedication Page (I used it to explain how I started blogging instead)

Middle

Back Cover

Is it not fabulous?!

I can not highly recommend doing this enough! It's a great Christmas present that can be made just for you if you'll whisper the idea in someone's ear. When my husband, who supports my blogging fully saw it, he was really excited. He especially wants his mom to see it because she doesn't have a computer and she enjoys this sort of thing. Our kids have been known to thumb through it at various times during the day, too, and they love it.

Thanks for sharing my joy in this journey.

I LOVE IT TOO!!! How exciting for you. I remember when you posted about doing it, and was hoping you would share it with us. Glad you love it...I am seriously thinking about doing it, but I think I might wait until the end of this year so that I have 2 full years to include.

I am so glad you started blogging...had you not...I wouldn't have such a dear friend named Carol who lives in England. Have a beautiful weekend!

Oh how wonderful. I have heard of this one other time, but had no idea how to do it. I'm gonna check out that site.

Have a Beautiful day,

Carol,

What a great present for any blogger. How many posts can you have bound?

Love that you included the link. I think I have just discovered my wonderful Christmas present to hint at for my family.

This is such a cool idea. I have often wondered if there was a permanent way to save your Blog. I can see this being a great end of the year task to celebrate all the hard work people put into blogging! By the way, I am always inspired by your blog. You have done such a great job at inviting me into your life and family.

Blessings, Tina

I've heard this idea once or twice before, and I think it sounds wonderful! Blogging is such a great way to record what you were doing/thinking during the last year and how special to have a real, in-your-hand memento. I'm going to check out the link right now!! Thank you.

Yay!! I'm so glad you got one made!
I have some questions for you, since you used a different company than mine.

1. Did you have to re-import your photos since Blogger reduces the size quality, or did they import good enough for printing?

2. Did you have to format each post, or did it do it for you? And if it did, did you have formatting options if you wanted to change it?

3. Did you do your whole blog, or just a part of it? Could you choose to do just a part of it?

4. About how long did it take you?

My process is very unwieldy - it takes quite a while and so I am QUITE behind on my blooking. So I'm always interested in other ways to get it done.

Thanks!
