Mediterranean Cruise - Day 1

It has been difficult to blog consistently these days. I have no time to read the blogs I usually do and also to post on any regular basis. It might have something to do with traveling so frequently lately. I'm not complaining... just stating the facts. Summertime keeps me busy as well.

In an effort to try and get back on track, here is the beginning of our cruise right after our 2 day Rome visit.

~~~Day One~~~
The introduction to the massive vessel we would be traveling on~ "The Navigator of the Seas"
The kids were blown away!
Almost immediately after you board the ship they have a "muster" drill. It's where everyone puts their life vests on and the crew explains to us what we would need to do in case of an emergency.
Such a bright bunch!
Grant is swimming in his.
Austin loves the dramatic pose.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After said drill, it's time to suit up and enjoy the swimming pools before dinner.

Braaten

Shawn trying to talk himself into getting in.

He decided to take the plunge.

Austin

We went back to our cabins and got ready for dinner. There are two formal nights and the rest of the time you wear casual clothes.

Austin was all ready for some good food.

Melanie

Shawn and Grant

This is where we ate every evening. It's hard to believe that this room is on a ship.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After dining, we explored more of the ship where we found the arcade.
Look Ma, no hands!
We were all tired and called it a night after seeing this...
Hope you enjoyed Day One.
It's official! I am jealous! I have always wanted to take a cruise with our family and I have procrastinated too long.
Time to put things into place to make that happen next year, no excuses.
I have always been worried I'd be sick if we took a cruise. But, looks like it's own city rather than a boat! :) Looks like such a fun family time.
AWESOME pictures!! This is going to have to be scrapbooked!! I know you are short on time--you might want to make it a family scrapbook project. We did that one summer, we each scrapbooked different events from the summer. It is so fun to go back and look at their handwriting and how they put things on a page. Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures. julie :)
Wow - that's amazing! the ball room is gorgeous. . . I've never been on a cruise, but it sure is opulent looking! If I WERE to go on one, I would certainly choose a Mediterranean one!
So glad y'all got to experience that as a family!
