mantel fun

I've seen shutters used on top of mantels on several blogs and I love 'em. I found a pair over at Goodwill for $3.99 and transformed them.

I usually paint in my garage or outside. Not so with cold temps. Have no fear, my basement is the perfect place for such an endeavor.

I used paint I already had which makes it really cost-effective.

And this is the end result. Whatdaya think?

And as my mantel reads... may you enjoy all the bountiful blessings that God shows you in the mundane, the everyday, the almost unnoticeable, and in the absolutely obvious!

I love them! My daughter1 has an old shutter she 'spruced up' in her bedroom. It is covered in postcards from around the world. So fun!

My mantle has been a challenge and I finally got a decorator in to help me. I've ordered something and I think/hope I'm going to like it. I"l post pics when it's here.

Happy Wednesday!

How fun. I did this same thing in our old house. I loved them. Right now in our new house, I'm trying to figure out where I will put them.

Enjoy the blessings..

I once used this idea as a headboard for my daughter's bed.
